Here's a quick guide to applying 1 Step.

1 Step is very simple and straight forward to apply, it is fast and durable and perfect for people in a hurry with busy lifestyles.

Firstly there is no need to use a bonder, primer or even gel cleanser to wipe any sticky residue off. You don't need a base gel or even a top coat.

 Here's the STEP by STEP

1. Spray the nail with Chroma Gel antiseptic spray and dry the nail.
2. Paint a thin coat of 1 step and cure:
Cure time : LED 30 seconds
Cure time: UV 120 seconds
3. Paint a second coat of 1 Step colour and cure:
Cure time: Led 60 seconds
Cure time: UV 120 seconds

You need a minimum 12W LED Lamp to cure 1 Step or 36W UV lamp.

Q: Do I need a base coat?

A: No - Chroma Gel 1STEP has a base coat built right into the formulation.

 

Q: Do I need to prep the nail?

A: Yes - a good basic prep is always recommended, as this will reduce the chance of any chipping and peeling.

 

Q: You have a 1STEP "No Wipe Top Coat" - What's this for if it's 1STEP?

A: We have a Top Coat for technicians who need it for nail art, manicure and for their clients who need extra strength.

 

Q: Why has mine chipped?

A: Make sure you shake the bottle before application as the formula can separate in the bottle and not work to it's optimal performance.

Your 1st coat must be thin, and cure for 30 seconds in the LED lamp to help prevent chipping. 

 

Q: Why is mine peeling?

A: Make sure you shake the bottle before application as the formula can separate in the bottle and not work to it's optimal performance. 

If your client picks at the nails then they will peel off, especially if your clients nails are slightly thin or damaged. You could add Chroma Gel Bonder to aid with the longevity, remember this is not necessary only in some cases.

 

Aftercare is the key to your clients nails lasting.

Explain to your client that Chroma Gel 1STEP is a soft semi permanent gel polish and recommend the following aftercare steps.

1. Don't treat you nails as tools.

2. Try to wear gloves when cleaning or gardening.

3. Apply Chroma Gel Oleum every other day.

4. Do not pick or bite at your nails.

5. If your nail breaks it is more than likely the Chroma Gel will chip as the natural nail is broken.

6. Chroma Gel 1STEP will protect the nail, however if you break your nail it may not stop all breaks from happening.

 

Q: How long will a full set of Chroma Gel 1STEP last?

A: Normally Up to 14 days in some cases even longer - This will depend on how you look after them.

 

Q: How long does it take to apply a set of Chroma Gel 1STEP?

A: 15 - 20 minutes depending on how much prep there is to do. ( We've seen it done in under 10 minutes ;P)

 

Q: How long should it take to remove Chroma Gel 1STEP?

A: 10 - 15 minutes with the wrapping method using our soak off remover. You can file it off but it is not recommended.

 

Q: Will Chroma Gel 1STEP  stain my nails?

A: No - as there is a base coat formulated in the gel, however in extreme cases of truly damaged nails it may take longer to soak off, but we have never seen it stain.

Chroma Gel Advanced is a soak off colourless gel that can convert normal nail polish into gel polish that lasts for up to 2 weeks. It is quick and easy to apply and cures in just 2 minutes with a 36 watt UV lamp. The magic of Chroma Gel is that you are not limited in colour or choice. You can use any polish from your collection with this product in order to create a flawless coloured gel finish. Gone are the days when your workstation is over crowded with gel colours - now all you need is Chroma Gel. That is what compels Chroma Gel to be ahead of the rest.

Stage 1 - Prepping for Chroma Gel Polish Mix

 

1. Buff the natural nail with the Chroma Gel 100/180 buffer.

 

2. Remove all dust with the Chroma Gel antiseptic spray and paint a coat of Chroma Gel acid free primer to the nail.

 

3. Brush a thin coat of Chroma Gel bonder across the free edge.

 
                 

4. Paint 1 even coat of Chroma Gel Advanced on the nail with the Chroma Gel size 4 brush, making sure to cap the free edge and cure:

UV - 120 Seconds

LED - 60 Seconds

 

5. Wipe off the sticky residue with a lint free wipe saturated in Chroma Gel gel cleanser.

 

6. Buff the surface of the Chroma Gel Advanced gently with a Chroma Gel 300/300 buffer to remove the shine.

 
 

Stage 2 - Mix your polish with Chroma Gel Advanced

First Mix your Chroma Gel and Nail Polish/Varnish in a Dappen Dish.

Mixing Ratio - Depending on the size of your brush - 1 Part Chroma Gel, 2 Parts Polish .

** Top Tip (If your polish is light in colour mix 1 drop CG 3 drops Polish)

Stage 3 - Apply your mixture to the nail

 1. Paint the 1st coat of Chroma Gel Advance mix on the nail and cure:

UV - 120 Seconds

LED - 60 Seconds

 2. Paint the 2nd coat of Chroma Gel Advance mix over the 1st layer, cap the free edge and cure:

UV - 120 Seconds

LED - 60 Seconds

 

 3. Apply 1 coat of Chroma Gel Advance without polish on the nail and cure:

UV - 120 Seconds

LED - 60 Seconds

 

4.Paint on the 1st coat of Chroma Gel Finishing Touch and cure. 

Repeat with a 2nd coat and cure.

UV - 120 Seconds

LED - 60 Seconds

 

Finally

1. Wipe off the sticky residue with a lint free wipe saturated in Chroma Gel Gel Cleanser.

 
 

 2. Apply Chroma Gel Oleum cuticle oil.

 

 Removal

What You Need

  1. Use the Chroma Gel 80 grit nail file to gently file the surface of the finishing touch to break the seal and remove shine. 
  2. Saturate a cotton wool with acetone and apply to the top of the nail
  3. Wrap in foil for 10 minutes.
  4. Firmly pull the wraps off, one nail at a time with a twisting motion and start pushing the Chroma Gel off with an orangewood stick one nail at a time. If there is more product left on the nail re-wrap and allow the acetone to soak in to the product for a few more minutes.
  5. Remember :Use an orangewood stick to push and remove any excess Chroma Gel from the nailIf you are not re-applying Chroma Gel, buff with the nail with a 300 grit buffer. Apply Chroma Gel Oleum to nourish and moisture.
