1. Nail Art in Words
2018 has brought a new trend of words on your nails. Using each nail to house a letter, when you spread out your hands you are spelling a word or phrase. Many people are choosing hopeful and light-hearted messages, such as ‘life force’ and ‘ever Proud’, but if a client wants an edgier tone then try something like ‘dark child’. This trend has been promoted by Adam Slee of Preen, who has showcased his gel nail art at the summer 2018 Faberge fashion week runway, and we absolutely love it.
2. Neon
Bright, bold and eye-catching, neon colours have really been on trend for 2018. Bight statement colours such as pink, orange, blue and yellow have been making frequent appearances on catwalks across the world. They have also been extremely popular at festivals throughout the UK and Europe, with Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and even the metal festival Download seeing an abundance of neon gel nails. There are still a few festivals before the end of the summer, so try showcasing these to any music lovers or ravers out there.
3. Chrome
Offering a mirror shine, or a perfect metallic background on which to paint any design, chrome nails have really been taking off during summer 2018. Acting as somewhat of a revolution in the nail industry, chrome nails are great as they are so versatile. Being a stunning showcase piece in their own right, as well as offering a great base nail on which to add additional detailing, this is a trend we can see continuing into the Autumn/Winter season, as well as next year, making a must for your salon to know about.
